The "left-wing" vs “right-wing” framing seems to place the “left” at an immediate disadvantage due to the many other subconscious connotations of these words..
“weak, clumsy, foolish”
In Latin the word for left is “sinister” whilst the word for right is “dexter”, from which we derive “dexterous”..
Why not use more favourable terms?
e.g. “progressive”
